Meet Aurum Signature Studios: THE Go-To Studio for Bespoke Casino Games

- Hello, welcome to BestCasinos! Thank you for taking the time to chat with us. Can you start by introducing yourself Madelein?
Thank you for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to talk about Aurum Signature Studios. I am Head of the Studio and have the privilege of working with a talented team of artists, animators, and developers. With over 23 years’ experience, I have a huge passion for the casino industry – to a point where it was even the topic of my MBA dissertation!
- Who are Aurum Signature Studios? What are your goals and vision?
We are a niche studio that specialises in creating bespoke slot games. Our vision is to be the go-to studio when anyone is considering a bespoke game anywhere in the world.

- Your company specialises in bespoke content. Can you tell us more about the motivation behind creating bespoke content? What does that mean both for the players and casinos?
That is correct. In a world where the amount of content increases daily, how does a casino stand out from the rest? Aurum believes a bespoke game can give operators a competitive advantage, something that nobody else has. Many casinos use their bespoke games for promotional campaigns that reward players for their loyalty.
- How do you come up with ideas for custom casino games tailored for specific casino brands? Could you describe the creative processes happening behind the scenes?
Building a bespoke game is a collaboration between the customer and the studio, and themes are often driven by the customers’ needs and wants (i.e., to include their branding in the game). Relationships are extremely important to us and getting to know the customer, their brand, and their player profile assists in the theme creation. There is constant feedback and approval throughout the process, whether it’s the storyboard or illustrations or animation – it’s a collaborative process from start to finish.
- We are very curious about the development process as well. On average, how long does the development of an Aurum casino game last?
Development timelines differ depending on the complexity of the math engine and features of the game, thus anything from four weeks to three months.
- You probably hear this a lot, but why slots? Is there a reason you have chosen online slots as your main focus?
Starting out three years ago, the majority demand in the market was for bespoke slot games. Our future plans definitely include other game types and will continue to evolve to fulfil all the customers’ bespoke game needs.
- Do you play slots? Is there a favourite slot game of yours in your portfolio?
I started my casino industry career with Aristocrat, so yes, I have played my fair share of slot games over the past two decades. We have over 40 games in our portfolio; it’s impossible to choose a favourite as I am proud of each of the games my team has produced. Taking player and operator feedback into account, A Tale of Elves, Mega Moolah the Witch’s Moon, and Danmarks Vikinger received rave reviews.
- Mega Moolah the Witch’s Moon progressive slot joined the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network in September 2021. What were the main challenges that you encountered while creating a slot for such a legendary jackpot network?
As you can imagine, any game that plays to the Mega Moolah pot goes through rigorous testing. Aurum has delivered a number of games playing to the Mega Moolah pot, including Jungle Mega Moolah (Kindred), Joker Mega Moolah (Betsson), Pots O’ Riches Mega Moolah (BetVictor), and another four planned for 2022 delivery.
- What are your plans for 2022? Could you give us a hint of what to expect from Aurum Signature Studios in the coming months?
We have 18 – 20 games planned in our roadmap, but I cannot reveal details of the bespoke games as they are confidential until they go live. I can reveal global releases that include Gold Factory Jackpots Mega Moolah for H1, and a Christmas theme game for H2.
