Atlantic City to Become Richer for Two More Online Casinos
The Hard Rock Atlantic City casino – formerly known as Trump Taj Mahal – and the Ocean Resort – formerly known as Revel casino – are likely to open next spring. The operators of Atlantic City are setting stage to boost them with iGaming options much to the delight of the United States online gaming community.
As Atlantic City’s Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has announced, both companies have recently applied to obtain licenses to offer Internet gaming.
The More the Merrier
The city in the American state of New Jersey already has five casinos that offer online experience, and if their requests are approved by the DGE, there will be two new venues entering the online market. That consequently means that all five gaming developments will get involved in online gaming.
An Abundant Year
The opening dates for both of the casinos will be sometime next spring, and Ocean Resorts has already reached an agreement with UK online gambling software provider GAN to launch a real-money online gaming webpage most likely in autumn 2018.
Sports Betting Next?
The growth of the online gaming market is bound to continue in the near future in Atlantic City. However, sports betting still remains the greatest source of income in the seaside resort.
Atlantic City is still waiting for the Supreme Court of the United States to rule on the Professional and amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) of 1992 and estimate the influence the business would have on casinos if the sports betting gets approved.
The owners of Ocean Resort have declared that they own the property that will have a “best in market” sportsbook once the decision to ban sports betting is revoked. At the same time, GAN revealed in last week’s annual report that it has agreed to supply the company with a sports betting platform, if the legal climate becomes favourable.
