Hard Rock Eyes the Australian Gold Coast
Casino giant Hard Rock International has recently announced that it has been considering pursuing a casino licence in the Gold Coast, Australia.
The company has made public the email they sent to the Queensland government, the city council and its tourism leaders. The successful firm is set to build an integrated resort that would “break the mould”, shake its world and make it “entertainment-centric”.
Edward Tracy, CEO for Asia Pacific of Hard Rock International, has declared Queensland’s market to have great potential, and deems it t be just the thing they need to design a new “product paradigm”.
Tracy has also praised the firm’s reputation, which what he believes attracts clients to their venues. People go there because of “the lifestyle element the brand exudes,” Tracy has added.
He had wrapped up his announcement by saying that the casino is just one thing in the line-up to be used for the ultimate entertainments.
Queensland’s Response
Kate Jones, Queensland Tourism Minister, believes in the success of the venture.
“When we go to market on the Gold Coast, we are making it clear that the focus should be on big-name entertainment, bringing the likes of Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez to the Coast to perform.”
Jones has mentioned the model that Hard Rock is currently building in Spain and that the US Caesars possesses at properties all over the world.
Jones has stated, “We believe with the proposed locations in Queensland, each offers its own individual charm and opportunity.” Queensland representative has concluded by saying that she can “envisage a Hard Rock product for each setting.”
Daniel Cheng, Hard Rock’s senior VP of development for Asia, has, on behalf of the company, expressed appreciation and respect for Queensland and a keen interest supporting the exciting Global Tourism Hub vision. Cheng is confident that “[they] will complement Queensland’s exiting world-class tourism industry to greater heights.”
