Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sioux City in Iowa has officially launched a brand-new betting app for sports. The app, that brings flexibility to players that enjoy retail sportsbook services, was originally designed, and developed by Gaming Innovation Group. Both the retail sportsbook and mobile solution are fully supported by GiG.
The sports betting market of Iowa is new. Iowa pushed for a legalization of sports betting during the summer, with 19 casinos opening their doors in August. Thanks to the state Racing and Gaming Commission, operators with licenses can offer retail, desktop, and mobile wagering to customers. Of course, all customers must be over 21 and residing in the state.
GiG and Hard Rock Casino Sioux City signed a deal at the beginning of the year for a retail sportsbook and a mobile app. According to their plan, GiG was supposed to release the app in the final quarter of the year. And it seems that everything went according to plan.
Hard Rock Sioux City opened the doors of its over-the-counter sports betting offering in September via GiG. A month after sports betting was legalized in the state, the casino started catering to the players. That marked the first year of the partnership between the two brands.
Thanks to the new regulation, the sports betting industry in Iowa experienced a boom. A bigger part of the betting revenue came from sports betting. Although William Hill’s Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino came out as a top-performer, GiG and Hard Rock are making new plans. And as Iowa becomes a blooming centre of sports betting, the two companies continue planning other interesting projects. That includes more casinos, sportsbooks, and mobile betting apps in the future for players in the state of Iowa.
