IGT and William Hill Introduce Sports Betting to Twin River Casino
International Game Technology (IGT) and William Hill have announced the introduction of sports betting to Twin River Casino Hotel’s brand-new Sportsbook Bar & Grill which marks the expansion of their United States cooperation.
It was in September that IGT and William Hill announced a multi-year US-oriented venture which included full-service sports betting offering to lotteries and table gaming establishments. A month prior the two companies were rewarded the Rhode Island Lottery licence and selected as the state’s sports betting and gaming service providers to help the authority maximize revenue and ensure reliable, attractive and innovative gaming service for its players.
Expanding the Cooperation
The expansion to Twin River Casino Hotel’s brand-new Sportsbook and Grill is a continuation of the successful partnership.
“We are excited to partner with the Rhode Island Lottery and IGT to bring a world-class sports betting product to Twin River Casino,” Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US, commented.
Twin River Casino Hotel first started accepting sports bets from a temporary facility on November 26 prior to the opening of the Sportsbook Bar & Grill and Asher has expressed his pride of William Hill being the only sportsbook to provide services in all seven states that accept sports betting.
“The lines have been out the door in the temporary space so we are glad the permanent sports book is now ready. We are also proud that William Hill is joining Rhode Island in line with Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, Mississippi, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.”
IGT & William Hill Working Hand in Hand
IGT provides PlayShot, an end-to-end sports betting platform with touchpoints which allow bets to be placed and settled while William Hill provides odds making services and risk management.

Drago adds that PlayShot has already processed more than $1 billion through multiple locations in five US states in 2018 alone.
As of 3rd December, IGT and William Hill also provide sports betting at Tiverton Casino Hotel.
