Acclaimed industry technology provider IGT Group (International Gaming Technology) is to power the sports betting systems and terminals of MGM Resorts International’s New Jersey property Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, located in Atlantic City.
Following the issue of its market update, New York-listed IGT Group has confirmed that it has secured the retail betting systems contract according to the terms of which the provider will service MGM Resorts Atlantic City property.
The collaboration goes some time back, so it is not the first time for the two firms to work together. IGT Group has been servicing retail sports betting provisions at ten of MGM Resorts Las Vegas Strip properties, and also has been providing services of a software supplier to the playMGM app across the American state of Nevada.
The business has been put to work, and the Atlantic City Borgata has already started to take wagers on sports betting this week, having installed IGT’s retail point-of-sale system, which allows New Jersey patrons to place in-play and pre-match sports bets over the counter. IGT certainly brings momentous expertise and experience to providing leading technology to MGM Resorts sports betting.
Renato Ascoli, IGT CEO in North America, has commented on the continuation of the partnership by highlighting the success the two companies have so far achieved.
Ascoli has also added that IGT is prepared to deliver new content and solutions.
“Deployment of IGT’s sports betting solution at Borgata demonstrates that we are ready to deliver the products, technology, support and service to make retail and mobile sports betting a reality in any legalized state, today.” IGT CEO North America has concluded his speech by saying that IGT is looking forward to further collaboration and extending “its successful sports betting relationship with MGM Resorts to New Jersey and beyond”.
