IGT and OLG to Introduce Self-Serve Lottery Terminals in Ontario
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation have chosen IGT as the primary technology provider of self-serve lottery terminals. The announcement comes from International Game Technology PLC, under which IGT Global Solutions Corporation operates.
Self-Serve Lottery Terminals
This deal marks the first time that self-serve technology will become available to lottery players in Ontario. The contract is due to run until June 2027 and includes 10 additional one-year contract extension options. The installation of the terminals in the retail locations will begin in the second half of 2023.
OLG’s Duncan Hannay says: “We will work with key partners like IGT to deliver responsible, secure and convenient access to player-favourite lottery games. The introduction of self-serve lottery technology throughout Ontario would allow us to continue to drive sales and maximize revenue for provincial priorities for the benefit of the people of Ontario.”
IGT’s Jay Gendron adds: “Through the partnership with OLG, we will responsibly enhance the player experience in Ontario with the debut of our self-serve lottery terminals. IGT’s self-serve technology complements OLG’s goal for innovation and provides added convenience, functionality, as well as unrivalled experiences for players.”
Responsible and Convenient
Per the deal, IGT will provide OLG with 1400 GameTouch 28 lottery terminals. These terminals come with responsible gaming functionality and AODA-compliant accessibility features, such as a pin pad and audio jack. All of which serve to enhance convenience for all lottery players.
Furthermore, additional self-serve terminals such as IGT’s GameTouch Draw will also become available, during the duration of the contract. Besides the self-serve lottery terminals, IGT will provide OLG its OpenRetail terminal software application, as well as the ShowMaker multimedia content creation and management system. Retailer advisory services are also included.
