Leading gaming systems manufacturer International Game Technology (IGT) has just been awarded the lottery system and other services contract with the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL).

The contract includes providing a new draw-based central system, new lottery terminals and a back-up, as well as multifaceted communications network, and ongoing services, supplied by IGT’s subsidiary IGT Global Solutions Corporation.

Starting on 13th May 2018, when it will see the lottery’s new systems go live, the contract will last for 10 years.

Jay Gendron, IGT COO, Lottery, has declared that the SCEL has always kept its reputation and standards high, and has been an outstandingly successful and efficient traditional lottery, and a quintessential “source of funds for schools and scholarships.”

Gendron has also added, “To support the SCEL’s long-term objectives, IGT will provide customized, high-performance back-office systems, heighten retailer satisfaction, and responsibly deliver sustained net proceeds – all cultivated through a collaborative relationship that puts the SCEL’s needs first.”

Truly Diverse Services

What IGT will also provide the South Carolina organisation are various solutions among which are its Aurora Open Retail software architecture, Aurora Navigator user interface, and a brand new set of customisable back-office components for the lottery staff.

IGT’s Altura Flex draw-based lottery terminal will also be delivered to the SCEL, and it will feature a configurable platform that stems from the Altura GT1200 product.

The hottest out of all services provided must be Aurora MultiMedia digital advertising display solution, which will simulate increased brand awareness, winner awareness, and player recognition of jackpots and game activities. IGT’s Ticket-Scan™ Plus will also be installed in SCEL’s retail positions, which will enable players to easily check if their tickets won.

IGT takes the control over from Greek provider Intralot, which has been supplying the SCEL with system since 2008.

Its current communication network will be ousted by IGT’s patented Dual Comm Inside, which consists of a combination of next-generation VSAT and mobile-based technology, equipping the SCEL with unrivaled network availability.
