Earlier in January 2020, LeoVegas Group has appointed their new digital marketing director. From this month on, Johan Rikner will hold the reputable position at LeoVegas.
Johan Rikner is an entrepreneur from Stockholm, Sweden. He used to be the editor in chief in his own company Newsner, as well as the CEO. Later, in 2012, Rikner moved on to found and work as Chief Executive at nyheter365 (later N365 Group).
For a brief period, the Stockholm man was also employed at Swedish Mediaplanet as Chief Digital Officer (CDO).
He is now starting off 2020 the perfect way by combining efforts with the one and only LeoVegas.
While Rikner has bountiful experience in press advertising, he is not entirely inexperienced with online gaming. Rikner used to work with Vienna-headquartered sports betting company Bwin. His post at the company was Swedish Country Manager.
In the past few months, LeoVegas has been reconstructing its top people. Dersim Sylwan recently became Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Sylwan previously worked with Kindred Group.
Rikner commented on his arrival to LeoVegas:
“I really like LeoVegas’ culture and that there is such a consistent commitment to being data-driven. In fact, it is reminiscent of how we did it at News365.”
The Swede was very open to chat about his previous experiences. “I have some experience in building a data-driven organization. I hope to use it to help LeoVegas not only be King of Casino but also King of Digital Marketing.”
It has been evident that LeoVegas is working hard on improving the overall image. The gambling operator has secured licences to operate in several new regulated markets, including Sweden.
At the same time, LeoVegas withdrew its brand Royal Panda from the UK market.
