LeoVegas Focusing on Spain and Sweden
The ink on LeoVegas’s application to renew their Swedish licence is not even dry yet and the operator is already revealing their plans for conquering another European market – Spain.
The new licence should cover both the casino and sports wagering in Sweden, and LeoVegas has started the procedure just in time to take advantage of the changes in the country’s national gambling regulations. Lotteriinspektionen has already received over 20 applications, including the ones from LeoVegas casino and Kindred.
Swedish Market Restructuring Set For 2019
The upcoming market changes are expected to take place early next year (in January), and the Head of Corporate Finance and Investor Relation department at LeoVegas, Philip Doftvik, stated that the company is pleased with the changes on the Swedish market and that the legal restructuring is good news for LeoVegas.
According to Doftvik, the company was excited about their application and the upcoming regulations are undoubtedly a welcome change. Sweden has so far been one of the operator’s core commercial territories and LeoVegas is considered to be the largest online gambling service provider in the country, which explains why the management team is so focused on Sweden; 24% of their revenue is attributed to this particular channel and the numbers are expected to go up after the legal scenery alterations have taken place.
New Markets on the Line-Up
Re-entering the familiar arenas and adapting to the industry trends haven’t distracted LeoVegas from their long-term vision of breaking the new markets and the company officials have announced their plans of applying for the operating licence in Spain.
