Microgaming celebrated first anniversary of its Isle of Man headquarters on a bit unusual way only their creative team could have come up with.

Dubbed one of “the Ten Coolest Offices in 2017”, Sixty Two decided to celebrate the event with a time capsule burial.

Staff members gathered in from of the building with John Coleman, recently appointed chief executive officer, and placed the capsule underneath the building’s entrance on 1 August. The capsule is vacuum sealed and “specially treated to prevent the items tarnishing” and should be opened 30 years from now.

The capsule contains a plethora of unique moments holding a special meaning for Microgaming.

Staff members gave their own suggestions to honor some significant events for the company, many of which found their way into the time capsule. There are various images showcasing Microgaming highlights including the staff from volunteer days and the first group photo at the new offices. A number of local and international articles from the last year talking about their successful start were included and PlayItForward shirt was also placed into the capsule in the honor of the company’s CSR initiative

“It is incredibly important for us to mark our first year at Sixty Two. This time capsule captures a snapshot of our campus, our staff and the amazing culture we have fostered here on the Isle of Man for future generations to look back on” John Coleman commented.

“Most importantly, this moment serves as a reminder to our future selves of our unique heritage and the people who have made this building more than just a place to work – it is truly a campus to be proud of.”

Microgaming’s new purpose built headquarters was opened on 31 July 2017.

The 5-storey office building was named Sixty Two and has a unique sky bridge joining the old and the new building, creating a campus for the company. The new building allows rapid expansion for Microgaming and now houses 300 employees growing from 231 from the opening. Being as environmentally friendly as possible, Microgaming worked closely with BREEAM, the world’s foremost environmental assessment method and rating system for buildings to make sure all environment-preservation regulations have been implemented.

The 45,000 square feet office fosters a culture of collaboration and communication, with 16 meeting rooms, hot desks, phone booths and break-out areas on every floor. There are also coffee shop, canteen, dart boards, pool table, poker table, a library and table tennis to keep employees fueled and relaxed. No wonder Sixty Two was named one of “The Ten Coolest offices of 2017” published on The Telegraph. Sounds like a dream place to work at, doesn’t it?
