The first online casino platform and leader in iGaming industry Microgaming is spreading love again.

This is not the first time for us to see the online gambling behemoth give back to the community. In March 2018, the developer launched its unique Gift of Giving programme in order to donate means to various charities. In addition, June of 2018 brought up yet another charitable action by Microgaming, and the game supplier supported The Young Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) in battling gambling-related harm.

Working with Charities for a Noble Purpose

Microgaming, the innovator it is, came up with a project to support the youth through university and later on in career building. That is how its VSR initiative PlayItForward came to be, and through which the Isle of Man-based creator donated a total of £180,000, as it was reported near the end of December 2018.

The Gift of Giving programme was devised in such a way that Microgaming’s key clients get to vote on which charities get to enjoy the generous donation. In 2018 the crowd was polled and the results were in – the £30,000 was shared among Heroes on the Water (Isle of Man), Teenage Cancer Trust (the UK and Europe), Save the Rhino International (Africa), and Médecins Sans Frontières (Rest of the World).

Heroes on the Water Isle of Man was established in 2014 and is a fund-raising partner to Heroes on the Water UK. The organisations cater to offering military veterans the one of a kind therapy that combines the physical challenge of kayaking and fishing with the relaxing effects water has on people in order to help them with rehabilitation and integration.

Another winner on record includes Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity group devoted to assisting young cancer patients aged 13 to 24. The team is committed to helping patients and their families cope with the disease and its impact on body, mind and lives.

It is the fourth year in a row for Save the Rhino International to win a share of the donation.  The organisation supports endangered rhinos in Africa and Asia.

Lastly, MSF is a global independent medical humanitarian organisation that aids people affected by epidemics, armed conflict or exclusion from healthcare.

In 2019, the seventh annual Gift of Giving campaign is taking place. We cannot wait to see which charities will be fortuitous enough to be voted for.
