Microgaming to Develop Third Tomb Raider Slot
Microgaming has extended its longstanding partnership with Square Enix and has agreed to produce a third Tomb Raider branded online slot.

To mark the fifteenth anniversary of its fruitful partnership with Square Enix, Microgaming has renewed its agreement and will launch new Lara Croft slot at ICE 2019 in London. The third instalment will come 15 years after the first slot Tomb Raider: Lara Croft was released in 2004, and ten years after the second instalment, 2008 Tomb Raider: Secret of the Sword.
Janet Swallow, vice president of licensing at Square Enix West, expressed her delight with the extension of the deal and the resurrection of the amazing action hero that has has become a pop-culture icon ever since it first appeared in a video game in 1996.
“We look forward to continue working with Microgaming to develop another successful branded online slot game. We are excited to see a new action-packed Lara Croft adventure launch to the igaming world and look forward to the big reveal at ICE 2019.”
A Powerful Brand
Lara Croft first appeared in a video game in 1996 and has sold more than 67 million units which made her the best-selling video game heroine. The franchise also features successful blockbuster movies, products, merchandise and online slots trough the exclusive deal with Microgaming.
The third title will be developed by an independent studio Triple Edge Studios that develops high-quality content exclusively for Microgaming and will first see the light of the day at ICE in London, early next month. The fearless Lara Croft will take players on an unimaginable ancient quest that will make their blood boil while they hunt for exciting riches.
