NetEnt Appoints Therese Hillman as New Acting CEO
The Board of Directors at NetEnt has decided to replace the Group’s CEO Per Eriksson with Therese Hillman.
With this latest management team update, NetEnt wants to increase focus on long-term growth for the company.
The Board appointed Therese Hillman as acting CEO and Per Eriksson is to step down with immediate effect. Therese Hillman will also keep her current position as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). NetEnt aims to make this a permanent appointment as soon as possible. This decision has been announced by the global iGaming company following on from a disappointing 2017, which featured a 3.9% year-on-year decline in operating profits.
Per Eriksson joined NetEnt as CEO in 2012 and prior to that he served as CEO and President of Dustin Group AB and as head of Dell EMC.
NetEnt’s chairman of the Board, Vigo Carlund thanked Eriksson for his devotion to the company and explained the company needed the change and a new driving force. The overall performance of the company was lower than expected in the previous year although some parts of the business are still developing well. The Board made this decision in order to reverse the trend and increase the focus on growth since the value creation potential in NetEnt remains significant.

Hillman holds a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics and had replaced Maria Hedengren, the previous CFO, in January 2017.
She was a member of the Board of Directors at Unibet for five years and the CEO of Gymgrossisten Sweden AB, a subsidiary of the Qliro Group. Her experience as CFC and CEO in a digital growth company was looked upon as a great contribution to the senior management team at NetEnt and is now hoped to lead the company in a new direction.
In another market update, it has been previously announced that the company issues its latest slot game – Hotline.
