Novomatic CEO Harald Neumann Resigns
The supervisory board of Novomatic Group has announced that Harald Neumann, the CEO will no longer occupy that position. The board announced that Neumann resigned a couple of days before the end of February.
The board also stated that Neuman is resigning from the position due to family issues. Until they appoint a new CEO, Ryszard Presch and Johannes Gratzl will take over Neumann’s former responsibilities.
Change of Perspective
Novomatic CEO Harald Neumann resigned as CEO of the company on February 28th. His resignation took effect the day after he submitted the paperwork. The company listed family reasons as the main reason for the departure. But Neumann is not going away ultimately.
Namely, as the company explained, Neumann will remain with the supervisory board. His new position will include counselling and advising on international projects.
Novomatic will also have to wait to find a suitable candidate to fill the permanent role of CEO. Until they choose the right person for the job, Ryszard Presch and Johannes Gratzl will fill in the position together. Presch is currently the COO of the company, while Gratzl serves as the company CFO.
Six Years of Dedication
Before stepping down from his position, Neumann worked as the CEO for six years. During this time, the company experienced immense changes and considerably expanded its operations across multiple regulated markets. Plus, the company just celebrated 40 years of work. The board released a statement in which it praised Neumann and his hard work and dedication to the company. Here is how Dr Bernd Oswald, chairman of the supervisory board, thanked Neumann for his commitment.
“Mr Neumann made a significant contribution to the successful expansion of the group. His personal wish to resign from his position at the end of the month was granted with regret.”
Although Neumann will continue working at Novomatic, the company is quite sad that they had to let Neumann go. Nevertheless, Presch and Gratzl will make an energetic duo when it comes to company management. Their main goal is to expand in the North American region, where they plan to overtake a massive part of the sports betting market.
