Novomatic to Launch New Game Development Training Programme
Innovator among iGaming behemoths Novomatic has once again proven why it is one of the supreme leaders of the industry.
The supplier has developed the Corporate Coding Academy (CCA), which is a new training site for future company game developers and whose aim will be to search for suitable participants.
The pursuit started on 1 July, but the programme itself will begin in November 2018.
Thinking of the Future Generations
The ‘coding heroes’ of tomorrow will have the chance to partake in a high quality, customised 6-month programme after completing which they will become Junior Game Developers.
Dr. Klaus Niedl, Global HR Director at Novomatic, has summarised the idea behind the training initiative. “We need game developers, and our plan is to use this program, unique in Austria, to ensure that our new recruits are perfectly trained.”
The Programme in a Nutshell
The one of a kind training programme will be taught by experienced and skilled experts from the software and game development industries.
Besides the technical input, the trainees will get insight into game studios and their gaming development processes, and thus have a proper hands-on experience. The 6-month initiative will be divided into three stages, each of them 8 weeks long, and the chosen venue will be three game studios in Vienna (Grentube) and Gumpoldskirchen (Novomatic).
What makes the programme even more special is the melange of online and traditional training, which offers flexible ‘on the job’ learning.
The Corporate Coding Academy will focus on building up on previous knowledge and will teach total game development and associated programming languages like C++ and SDL/OpenGL. Lastly, participants will be chosen based on a multi-step selection process, and the training expenses will be covered by the organising company.
Niedl has also commented on Novomatic’s scheme on a global level. “As one of the largest gaming technology companies in the world, we also produce games for the digital-interactive sector.” As iGaming is the fastest growing sector in the industry, Novomatic deems it quintessential to be ahead of the game.
