Awards season in the world of iGaming is gaining momentum and we are witnessing the world’s top-notch software developers go home and take some pretty amazing awards. On 18 April we have seen the 2018 Global Regulatory Awards that took place in Sheraton Grand London Park Lane in Piccadilly, London and we have observed the Play’n GO pretty carefully.

Three Nominations for Play’n GO

Being among the nominees is a success for itself and confirms the company’s hard work and efforts to stay at the top. The very recognition of their strategy is a win and this year the provider received three nominations.

The Play’n GO wider compliance team was up for the In-house Counsel/Legal Team of the Year, Technical Compliance Officer Jamal Sudra was nominated for Compliance Officer of the Year and Deion Williams, the Technical Compliance & Information Security Officer at the company was nominated for Data Protection Officer of the Year.

With compliance with regulators being important more than ever, the three nominations showcase the company’s efforts and the recent success working with various regulators to ensure their products are licensed in multiple jurisdictions worldwide.

Deion Williams Donning the Award

Competing with very tough opponents in all three categories, Play’n GO has scooped the Data Protection Officer of the Year thanks to Deion Williams and added one more trophy to its collection of industry awards.

Williams showed particular commitment to implementing data protection procedures and therefore enabled the company to enter the new markets. Williams joined the company last year and made some crucial moves to help the company grow. He thanked his team and said the award comes as recognition for all their hard work and they all feel honored to receive the industry’s acclaim at such prestigious ceremony.

Johan Törnqvist, CEO at Play’n GO, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Deion has been crowned Data Protection Officer of the Year. Huge congratulations go to him and the rest of the team, and a big thanks for all the hard work they continue to put in for us.”

The Award was shared between Deion Williams and Anna Niewiadomska from the operator Kindred since judges couldn’t separate the devotion and outstanding commitment to compliance of the two.
