Public Alert: Fake PAGCOR Website Targeting License Seekers
Online gamers and operators are being warned about a fraudulent website posing as the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). The fake site, which operates under the domain www.pagcorphilippines.com, falsely claims to offer official licensing and accreditation services.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco has confirmed that the site is in no way affiliated with the official gaming regulator. He urged the public to avoid downloading any materials or engaging with the scam website in any kind of way.
PAGCOR Takes Action Against Online Fraud
It was reported that PACGOR has taken the issue directly to the authorities.
They presented the case to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). Right now, DICT is working on identifying the culprits behind the website. Once they are identified, PACGOR will take legal action against the scammers.
Tengco assured everyone that PAGCOR is dedicated to getting to the root of the problem and shutting down the entire fraudulent operation, “we shall go after them with the full force and extent of the law.”
Ensuring Safe Transactions
Finally, PAGCOR stated that its only official website is www.pagcor.ph, and all gaming-related transactions should be conducted exclusively through this domain.

Individuals who suspect even a little bit false or illegal activities are encouraged to report them immediately. They can either report to PACGOR or their relevant law enforcement right away. This way, they protect both themselves, as well as other, potential applicants that could easily fall for the scam.
Is Online Gaming Industry at Risk?
Right now, it is difficult to say what kind of harm has been already done with this website. According to PACGOR, the website launched over the weekend, exactly on the day when the official regulator was not in operation.

Hence, industry leaders have stressed the importance of caution in digital dealings, from transactions to downloads. Applicants must be more careful when verifying the authenticity of websites before providing sensitive information.
If we don’t deal with this issue on time, it could endanger the entire industry, and even affect strong markets such as the UK and Sweden.
