Playtech-owned Swedish slot developer Quickspin has promoted its VP of business development Eric Gullstrand to the role of Chief Product Officer (CFO) following the recent departure of co-founder and long-standing CPO Joachim Timmermans.

Timmermans Leaves Quickspin

Timmermans announced his departure earlier this month, explaining it was time to move on from the business at a time when the company is doing great in both revenues and people.

Timmermans co-founded Quickspin with Daniel Lindberg and Mats Westerlund in September 2011 after leaving his role as head of casino and games at Unibet. He served as Quickspin’s CPO for the last 7 years and decided that the company needs fresh blood. Gullstrand was a perfect choice considering his huge experience in the business.

“We are delighted to announce the promotion of Erik to leading CPO at Quickspin,” Quickspin chief executive Daniel Lindberg said. “He’s an invaluable asset and has been dedicated to building the company into what it has become today since our founding.”

“We have very exciting plans for 2019 and are confident that Erik is the ideal person to execute that strategy.”

Gullstrand Perfect for the Position

Eric Gullstrand has been with the company since 2012 and has held a number of key roles within the corporate hierarchy.

He was performing the roles of head of development, head of account management, head of mobile and vice president of business development. He holds an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics. He will bring huge experience and understanding of the company to the new position and his appointment marks Quickspin’s dedication to developing talent internally.

Based at the head office in Stockholm, Sweden, Gullstrand will execute Quickspin’s product strategy in 2019 and years to come. He will basically be in charge of product planning and development, monitoring and diversifying product portfolio as well as devising new promotional tools and further expansion into new markets.

Commenting on his appointment, Gullstrand said he is excited by the new challenge.

“Having been at Quickspin since its founding days, I see this appointment as the testament to all of the hard work myself and my fellow Quickspinners have put into the building of the company to the leading slots specialist it has now become.”

In December, Quickspin revealed it was to become one of the first game providers to supply its content to licensed operators in the re-regulated Swedish market, which launched on January 1.
