Scientific Games Appoints Albregts as the EVP and CEO of Gaming Division

Scientific Games Corporation has announced Doug Albregts as the EVP and CEO of the Gaming Division, replacing Derik Mooberry.

Senior Shifts at Scientific Games

Taking into account Scientific Games’ diverse range of products, bringing Albregts’ deep knowledge and experience managing a wide range of high-tech businesses, will drive innovation and growth of the company. Derik Mooberry served in the role since November 2014, when his previous employer Bally Technologies was acquired by Scientific Games.

He will stay with the company but with the new role as vice-president for strategic projects. Doug Albregts joins as executive vice president and group chief executive of gaming for the New York-listed supplier from the Sharp Electronics Corporation. He worked for the US part of the Japanese giant Sharp in various positions. He served as CEO of Sharp Imagining and Information Company of America, as a president and as CEO and chairman of Sharp Electronics America. Albregts also held executive management roles that focused on enterprise growth in multinational digital technology companies including American Express, NEC and Samsung. His role includes overseeing the company’s product development, production, supply chain and sales of the Scientific Games’ gaming products, systems and services.

After a huge 2014 $1.5 billion deal to acquire the concurrent Bally Technologies, Sci Games acquired NYX Gaming Group in January 2018 for $775 million. The deal was a part of their long-term strategic plan to add a sportsbook capacity to their suite of services with legalized sports betting in the US approach.
