SG Digital, a proud part of Scientific Games Corporation and as of recently owner of NYX Gaming Group, has announced a number of leadership appointments to accelerate its expanding strategy across digital gaming, iLottery and sports.

New Additions

One of the most important additions is Ashley Sandyford-Sykes who will serve as senior vice president (SVP) of SG Digital’s content team.

He is set to join the company on 1 May and will be based at the Chiswick office in London. Sandyford-Sykes will report to COO Jason Walbridge and will be responsible for SG Digital’s nine game studios that created many popular titles including Rainbow Riches, Foxin’ Wins and Wild Play Superbet.

He previously served as head of Microgaming’s Quickfire and held lectures about slot product development and content strategy.

Full Circle

Sandyford-Sykes joining the team finalizes the full set of previously announced product and technology appointments, including Keith O’Loughlin joining as senior vice-president sportsbook and platforms, Dylan Slaney as global innovation director, Dunn Humby as senior vice-president gaming and Chris Armes as chief technology officer.

In addition to these appointments, current Scientific Games’ legal director for the UK, Sue Dawson will take on the additional role of deputy general counsel SG Digital. She has already worked as head of UK Legal for Inspired Group and assistant counsel for Gala Coral Group. Ryan Ripley will accept the role of interim chief financial officer for SG digital.

“We’ve formed an extremely powerful team of technology and product leaders who are moving quickly with a dual focus,” said Matt Davey, group chief executive of SG Digital, adding that the company will be ready if the United States becomes a newly regulated market.

“Firstly, maturing our EU-centric development and product capabilities to better support our larger UK and EU customer base, and secondly, establishing new capabilities in North America to meet the growing demand for our gaming products and be prepared for sportsbook expansion” Davey added.

New Division

The new SG Digital division was announced at the ICE Totally Gaming in London in February and includes OpenBet, the leading B2B platform, the player account platform Open Platform System (OPS), the industry’s most powerful content aggregation networks via its Open Gaming System (OGS), former SG Interactive’s Game Server, the award-winning SG Universe Platform and nine independent game studios.

The amazing newly strengthened team is eager to start working and the changes are aligned with the ambition to stand up and seize all opportunities before them. Their goal is to deliver “customer-driven, product-led strategy” with the clear focus at speed.
