William Hill Donates $50K in New Jersey
William Hill America’s premier sportsbook operator has made a donation of 50 000 dollars to the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey.
This Council is a private non-profit organization with a mission to educate the public that gambling is a treatable illness by providing information, education and referral services for people who are affected by a gambling problem.

This donation will help with the production of an educational video that will show the impact of this problem, not only on the individual but also on his loved ones. Because of its educational purpose, it will also instruct and direct them on how to seek help.
This donation clearly shows that William Hill recognizes that to some customers, instead of offering simple entertainment, wagering on the event becomes much important and consequently leads to negative impacts on other areas of customer’s life.
Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill U.S. stated that the company is proud regarding the decision to partner up with the Council and help bring attention to this important issue. Since William Hill have recently settled a lawsuit, the decision was made public that the portion of the proceedings should be donated to an organization that helps people with gambling problems.
“We spent a lot of time working on best use and we decided to focus on reaching out to family members of those with a gambling problem. I know from personal experience that family members of problem gamblers can help push those that need help to seeking it.”, he said.
