William Hill, the leading bookmaker in America, has signed an agreement with Golden Entertainment to manage its race and sports betting operations in three US countries, Nevada, Maryland and Montana.

The deal will expand the existing partnership between the two companies, since William Hill already operates the race and sports book at Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Gambling Hall and also deposit kiosks at nearly 80 Golden Entertainment wholly-owned taverns and third-party distributed gaming locations throughout Nevada.

“We are excited to expand our current relationship with William Hill, which has a proven sports wagering platform not only in Nevada but around the world. We look forward to growing our business in Nevada and other jurisdictions through this partnership,” said Steve Arcana, COO of Golden Entertainment.

Partnership Extension

The extension of the partnership will increase the number of William Hill deposit kiosks to a 100 and add several more casinos to the deal.

Race and sports book operations will be included at Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder in Las Vegas and Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nevada. William Hill will also continue to operate the race and sports books at Edgewater and Colorado Belle casino resorts in Laughlin after Golden Entertainment finalizes the acquisition of these properties in the first quarter of 2019.

The deal allows them to pursue opportunities in Montana and Maryland since the legislation passed to allow sports betting in those states as well. Golden Entertainment owns Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Maryland and operates distributed gaming across Montana in nearly 300 locations.

William Hill chief executive Philip Bowcock said: “This is another important milestone for our US business as William Hill expands its relationship with Golden Entertainment in Nevada and extends our potential reach in the US to more states.”

“This shows the benefits of our flexible business model – we are the only operator taking bets in all states where full sports betting is legal and we continue to extend our market access” he added.

William Hill is expected to begin operation additional race and sports books by December, subject to regulatory approval and this is a positive thing for their US business.

William Hill established its base in New Jersey, provides its operations for several casinos in Mississippi and a casino in West Virginia and also work as risk manager for the sports lottery in Delaware. Just last month, they signed a deal with casino group Eldorado Resort which would help them expand to 13 more states.
