William Hill Teams Up with LV Lights to Set Foot To US
The UK bookmaker has teamed up with the Las Vegas Lights soccer club which marks the first US sports team announcement of official betting partner.

The Las Vegas Lights Football Club of the United Soccer League, a professional organization a tier below the Major League Soccer, announced a partnership with bookmaker William Hill as their exclusive sportsbook partner that will “create an enhanced match day experience in 2018 and beyond for fans”.
“We are excited to partner with Lights FC,” William Hill US CEO Joe Asher said in a release. “Las Vegas is truly a sports destination, and the Lights FC have been a great addition to the city. We look forward to seeing their continued success both on and off the field.”
The four major sports leagues in the U.S., the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL, haven’t been open to the idea of integrating sports betting with their products. They even fought against the strike down of PASPA in recent months. But in May, Supreme Court ruling opened the door to legal sports wagering and William Hill accepted New Jersey’s first legal sports wagers, officially opening its sports book at Monmouth Park Racetrack.
Maybe this deal between William Hill and a second-tier US professional soccer league will set a precedent for future relations between sports betting and the leagues.
Ideal Partnership
William Hill will promote its Nevada mobile betting platform to United Soccer league fans and offer a pre-match menu and continuous live InPlay odds when the Lights are on the pitch. As a promotion, the bookmaker is offering $5 in free sports betting credit per Lights home win to bettors who register for a new William Hill Mobile Sports account.
“William Hill is an ideal partner for a pro sports team in Las Vegas,” Lights FC owner and CEO Brett Lashbrook said in the release. “The $5 Free Sports Bet is one of the greatest sports promotions of all time. What other pro sports teams pays its fans when it wins?”
Lights owner, Brett Lashbrook is thrilled with the deal and the fact fans will have a superb experience with William Hill. The operator has more than 100 sports book locations and the Mobile Sports wagering app that promises a whole new level of watching the matches.
“We want to be the first team in North America to go to the top of the mountain and scream to our fans to take out their phones and bet on the game happening right in front of their eyes”.
