Would a slot be a true Irish slot if it did not have a leprechaun? Probably not. Thankfully, 7 Clovers of Fortune passes that test with flying colours, as there’s a handsome lad clad in green right beside the reels for the entire game round.

Green hills and a path leading straight under a rainbow are the game’s background, in true Irish fashion. On the grid, you are facing a muted 6×5 grid with card royals (low-rank), and common luck-themed items (high-rank). At the start of the base game, the reels show off a 6×5 grid, but you can only play with regular symbols on reel 1-5, as Reel 6 is filled with special symbols.  Low-rank icons are worth 0.40x to 0.80x, while high-rank icons pay 1x to 4x.

The game is highly volatile, so please be extra careful. Bets go from $0.25 to $250, which is good considering the payout is 4,454x the stake. Also, 4,000x is the value of the Grand Prize, which you can win randomly or via Connect & Collect.

GAME FEATURES

The core of the game is the Connect & Collect feature, and all the other features kind of revolve around it. There are also Respins, Free Spins, and many other surprises.

Connect & Collect

The game’s mechanics, Connect & Collect, are a brainchild of Wild Streak Gaming. They are represented by Connect & Collect symbols that land solely on the first five reels. Some symbols are regular, others carry cash prizes worth between 0.40x to 50x.

C&C symbols that land in chains – connected from reel 1 to 5 – pay out as they reach special, highlighted positions on reel 3 and 6. Reel 6 is a special one as it holds the key to unlocking good prizes.

On highlighted positions on Reel 3 and 6 you may find:

  • Money Value: When a chain reaches this position, you get a prize awarded worth between 2x and 160x.
  • Add Wilds: This symbol adds Wilds to reels 2-5 randomly. You must reach it via chain to unlock the prize.
  • Prizes: This symbol rewards the Minor, Major, or Grand prizes valued at 20x, 100x, or 4,000x, respectively.

  • Free Spins

Respins

This symbol may appear only on Reel 3, and you need a chain to unlock it. Once triggered, a total of 5 Respins plays out. During said respins, all C&C symbols are locked into place, while other positions and symbols go for another tumble. C&C symbols that land are locked into place as well, while others keep on spinning. Once the respins are done, you get the payout produced by potential chains.

Free Spins

The pot of gold is the game’s Scatter. You can enter Free Spins either by landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters, in which case you get 7, 10, or 15 spins. The other way is to reach a Free Spins symbol on a highlighted position with a chain, in which case you may get 7, 10, 15, 20, or 25 Spins, and a 2x prize.

Connect & Collect mechanics work in Free Spins as well. You can reach a Free Spins symbol on the grid with another chain, and you’ll get extra Spins.

Random Wins

You might also get a random win such as the Grand Prize in the base game. You might also get a random number of Wilds added to the grid on a base game spin, and some C&C symbols added to non-special positions. This is rare, but possible.

7 Clovers of Fortune is an Irish slot. It’s a product of Wild Streak Gaming and Pragmatic Play, as it’s using Wild Streak’s mechanic Connect & Collect. It’s the third game with this mechanic, and so far, it’s been the one with the highest RTP out of the bunch. But in all other aspects, it offers little to no variation, outside of the theme.

We shan’t argue that the game is bad, ‘cause it’s not. What it is, is a bit repeated: but if you are a fan of the mechanics, Pragmatic Play, and Irish slots, it’s going to be a hit for you. The maximum you can win is 4,454x the stake, which is neither bad nor grand. Simply put, it is what it is. A solid one for us, albeit gameplay gets a bit boring after a while.
