You are welcomed into a spooky, particularly dark and misty night, where the comic book style visuals serve the theme splendidly. There is an abandoned chateau sitting in the background surrounded by gnarled leafless trees.

As we have already mentioned, you will see a 7×7 grid panel in the Lordi Reel Monsters slot. Lordi’s chain reaction of features begins with a humble cluster win. Cluster wins are formed with at least five matching symbols landing in adjacent positions which then get removed and replaced with new symbols from above. There are five different coloured tokens worth up to 2.5x the bet for clusters of 15+ symbols, on the lower end of the paytable. Cluster wins are crucial to unlocking Lordi Reel Monsters’ features. Every winning symbol will charge the Monster meter, which has two levels. When 15 charges have been collected, a monster is released, and when 40 charges are achieved, a free spin is triggered.

When cascades end, and there are 15 or more charges on the Monster Charger, a random Monster modifier activities:

Mr Lordi – adds 5 to 8 wild symbols to the grid.
Hella – destroys all symbols in view except the wilds and one or two chosen symbol types.
Amen – upgrades two to five symbol types to different symbol types.
Hissi – selects a symbol to build up a winning cluster.
Mana – turns one type of symbol into wilds.

When 40 charges in the meter are activated, one free spin is awarded. Players are offered the opportunity of picking one of two choices:

Reel Monsters – applies a multiplier to all wins starting at 1x and increasing by 1₊on each winning cascade. In addition, two Monsters are guaranteed.
Better Hate Than Never – winning wilds are collected, and three Monsters are guaranteed. After the Monsters have done their thing, 5 – 10 wilds are added back to the grid.

Cluster mechanic and these unique features will definitely provide an enjoyable gaming experience. The max payout is 4,000x which is not bad, however, we have seen more from Play’n GO and its branded slots.
