Lucky’s Wild Pub is an online slot game released by Pragmatic Play in anticipation of the St. Patrick’s Day 2025. While colorful and well-made, the game falls into the usual trap that many seasonal holiday games do – it fails to innovate its gameplay in any way. Lucky’s Wild Pub boasts a respectable RTP rate and some exciting features, but it’s not particularly memorable considering how many slot games use themes related to leprechauns and four-leafed clovers.
In many ways, the game is a perfect fit with the rest of Pragmatic’s portfolio. It’s accessible and fairly straightforward, following many tropes and cliches of online slot machines. This also contributes to the fact that Lucky’s Wild Pub is not the most original slot game, but it also means that you don’t have to worry about any unfamiliar features or mechanics.
In this review, we’ll talk about the gameplay, features, and payouts of the Lucky’s Wild Pub slot game. We’ll rate how all of these perform and the impression that the game left, comparing it to our library of thousands of casino game reviews.
The base game of Lucky’s Wild Pub follows a familiar style that will be immediately familiar to most slot fans.
In classic fashion, your goal is to hit 3 or more matching symbols along one of the game’s 25 fixed paylines. The game board features 5 reels and 3 rows, offering a mid-sized grid and a very high level of volatility.
During the base game, three types of bonus coins may appear on the screen. These are part of a Collector feature – they don’t offer immediate payouts but build up a pot that you can eventually collect via the Pot Respin feature.
The Pot Respin feature can randomly trigger whenever you pick up one of these coins. Coins can be picked up from any position on the reel.
Experienced players will recognize Pot Respins as a sort of Hold & Win feature with a few extra bits thrown on top.
During Pot Respin, all regular symbols are removed from the game. Every position on the grid acts as its own reel, spinning independently of each other.
During every spin, a position may end up blank. Alternatively, it lands a coin with a value between 0.6x and 30x. Coins can also have bonus values, which can be 10x, 20x, or 150x.
Whenever a coin lands on a reel, it sticks to its position and remains there until the end of the bonus round. If you spin 3 times in a row without landing any coins, the bonus round ends. However, the counter is reset back to 3 any time you hit anything. Alternatively, the round ends if you cover the full 5×3 grid with coins.
At the end of the bonus round, all of the coins are collected and paid out as one big win. Bear in mind that there are 3 types of bonus rounds based on the color of the coin that triggered it, as described above.
Our initial impressions of Lucky’s Wild Pub were dead on – it’s a fairly generic game, though it’s not without its qualities.
Since the base game is so standard, it seems that the bonus round is the focal point of this game. It’s a fun enough bonus round, and it can be profitable – it’s just not terribly creative. The three types of bonus rounds add some much-needed variety to the whole experience, but not much. Remember – most of your time with Lucky’s Wild Pub will be spent in the base game.
THankfully, Pragitic has enabled Feature Buy for this game, letting you dig right into the real meat as soon as possible.
All in all, it’s a solid game for fans of Hold & Win bonus rounds in slots. Everyone else will probably forget about it quickly as soon as St Patrick’s Day is over.
