Cleopatra, the queen that you were. Or are, if you ask Betsoft. Treasures of Cleopatra is a 6×5 cascading slot with scatter pays. Nothing new, nothing exciting. The visuals are again, nothing new or special. But the game does offer a breath of fresh air through its technicalities, setup and gameplay. What we mean by that is that the game offers excellent wins – the maximum is 10,101x – with Bet Boosters, Bonus Buys, and cascading wins.

When it comes to features, Betsoft went easy; that was a good move. Sure, we would have loved to see a debut of an innovative feature or bonus round, but in this case, it was good that they went with Multipliers and Free Spins only. Still, the Multipliers in Free Spins get an even better boost, so they give players a chance to hit big wins. The Bet Booster might not be a smash hit, but Bonus Buys are always a beloved sight. Even though they might not be available everywhere.

HOW TO PLAY Treasures of Cleopatra?

Treasures of Cleopatra is a cascading slot, which means winning combos are eliminated from the grid to create room for new symbols. Once the new symbols land onto the grid, there might be new winning combos, which then triggers another cascade, and so on. This goes on until there are no new winning combos possible. Moreover, wins happen using Scatter Pays, so you only need enough symbols on the grid, no matter where they are.

The minimum number of icons is 8, while the highest payouts come for 12+ symbols. Low-pay icons are gemstones encased in gold, paying from 0.25x to 10x. Then we have high-pay icons such as the Eye of Horus, Cat, Scarab Beetle, and Statue that pay up to 10x for 8-9 symbols, and from 12x to 50x for 12+ symbols.

The game’s RTP rate is 96.62%, but there are two other options that are less than favourable. Though, it peaks at 96.66% if you use the Buy Bonus option. In the base game, the hit frequency is 27.51%.

Lastly, Scatters are also paying icons, as they pay 3x for 4, 5x for 5, and 100x for 6 Scatters.

Bets start at $0.20 and go up to $15 per spin.

GAME FEATURES

The technical side of the game is solid, so Betsoft went easy on the boosters. You have Multipliers and Free Spins. There is also a Bet Booster, as well as a Buy Bonus.

Multipliers

Multipliers land on the grid both in the base game and Free Spins. The Multipliers are the pearls in four different colours. They are also random, so they may appear anywhere, anytime.

All Multipliers landing on the grid carry values from 2x to 500x. When the spin ends, all Multiplier values are added together and applied to the win. The biggest push for Multiplier comes from cascades, which really give them room to grow beyond their starting values.

Free Spins

Free Spins unlock with 4 Scatters, so you then get 15 gratis rounds. If it weren’t for Multipliers, Free Spins would be a regular, base game round. Thankfully, we have Multipliers, which really helps.  In Free Spins, Multipliers that land are added together and applied to the win, but they are also going into a major total Multiplier that is applied at the very end. Hence, every Multiplier is applied twice. This tiny feature helps players reach the game’s maximum win of 10,101x.

You can retrigger the feature by landing 3+ Scatters, unlocking +5 Spins.

Bet Booster & Buy Bonus

The Bet Booster is a type of Ante Bet, or Golden Bet. Essentially it boosts winning chances, doubling them. If you opt for a Bet Booster, you will have an increase in the stake by 25%. You cannot use Bet Boosters with Buy Bonuses.

Buy Bonus gives you an entrance to 15 Free Spins with 4 Scatters. It costs 100x. The major downside is that the option might not be available in all jurisdictions.

If you thought you’ve had enough of Egyptian slots, here comes Treasures of Cleopatra. Frankly, we were not exactly sure why this game was made when we first started reviewing, but by the end of it, we were glad we did it. It’s a cascading game with 6×5 reels, with a 10,101x payout, and scatter pays. So, there’s a lot in the technical department, but thankfully, Betsoft went easy on the features.

You only have Multipliers and Free Spins, but the game does include two extra options, the Bet Booster and Bonus Buy. It all looks and feels cohesive, without overpowering the game with irrelevant features. Still, it’s an Egyptian slot, so don’t expect something crazy in the visual department.
