Louisiana Double Poker

There are nine card combinations that will achieve a payout in Louisiana Double. All are standard video poker hands that are seen when playing poker. The available hand combinations begin with jacks or better and will award wins based on the number of coins played. Two pair, three of a kind, a straight, and full house complete the lower paying hand combinations. These will award wins that range from 2 coins to 45, again this will be dependent on the number of coins wagered.

The next possible combination that is achievable in Louisiana Double Poker is four of a kind and straight flushes. These are the higher ranking hand combinations and will see wins ranging from 35 coins to 375. The final hand combination achievable is a Royal Flush. This pays 400 coins for a single coin bet and 2500 if five coins are in play.

Ideally, when playing any style of video poker, it is recommended that you play the maximum number of coins. This is due to the fact that most wins will be the lower paying combinations. However, due to the “double” card being in play, and the frequency the lower paying wins are dealt, playing max coins allows you to maintain your bankroll, and therefore gives you the ability to play max coins while waiting for the higher paying combinations to be dealt.

All cards are dealt face up when gameplay commences. Once the cards have been dealt, the option to hold favourable cards, or those that have generated an instant win, is presented. Cards that are not wanted may be discarded and will be replaced. The cards showing after discarded cards and re-dealt will be the final results. Any winning hand combinations will then be paid, and a new game can commence.
