Crazy Time is easily one of the biggest success stories of live casino games, spawning multiple spin-offs and variants. Crazy Pachinko Live is one such spin-off, inspired by the Crazy Pachinko bonus round found in the original Crazy Time. It combines this well-known feature with an innovative live slot machine, resulting in a wholly unique gaming experience. With 96.05% RTP and multipliers that can stack up for massive payouts, the Crazy Pachinko casino game is set to be one of Evolution‘s biggest releases yet.
This isn’t the first time Evolution used one of Crazy Time’s bonus rounds in a live slot game, either. For example, Crazy Coin Flip essentially works the same way, with standard play consisting of a live online slot and an exciting game show bonus round you need to qualify for. However, Crazy Pachinko does things a bit differently, with a more distinct separation between the live slot section and the game show.
The most attention-grabbing part of Crazy Pachinko is the namesake Pachinko machine, of course. It’s designed to stack multipliers upon multipliers for a volatile but potentially highly rewarding outcome. However, we should not understate the live slot piece of the puzzle, either. Live casino slots are a young type of game right now, and Evolution’s offer is one of the best in the business.
SHOW MORESHOW MORESHOW LESSThe standalone Crazy Pachinko from Evolution consists of three distinct gameplay phases.
The first one is the online slot, and it’s the easiest to explain. It’s a relatively classic online slot machine with 5 reels, 3 rows, and 10 active paylines. Although it’s a fully functioning online slot with a standard paytable and payouts for winning combinations, its main purpose is for players to qualify for the bonus round. That’s why it’s referred to as the Qualification Phase. During this phase, every player is essentially on their own. The slot is fully determined by RNG, and you can play at your own pace. The only live feature at this point that is ‘live’ is the chat box.
To qualify for the Crazy Pachinko bonus round, you have to hit 3 scatter symbols in one spin. As a reminder, Scatter symbols do not have to be hit along active paylines and can win regardless of their position on the table. In this case, they can also appear with multipliers. If you qualify for the Bonus round using a Scatter with a multiplier, the multiplier increases any winnings from the upcoming bonus round.
The bonus round runs on a sort of loop, and it only goes live every few minutes to so. If you qualify but there’s more time until the next bonus round, you can participate in something called the Top-Up round. This minigame consists of a slot with 16 positions in which every position is its own independent reel. Every reel, in turn, has several multipliers on it. IF you spin the Top-up slot and multipliers hit on any of the 16 positions, they’re added to one of 15 multiplier counters at the bottom. These can potentially be added to your winnings in the Bonus Round, which we’ll describe below.
The Crazy PAchinko bonus round is arguably the game’s most important feature. Any players that manage to qualify are presented with a live stream from Evolution’s studio.
The Crazy Pachinko Live bonus round features a large wall with obstacles as its main component. A puck is released from the top and travels down, with the obstacles influencing its path. The puck ultimately lands in one of 16 positions, each holding a unique prize, which determines the player’s final payout.
Note that the 16 positions at the bottom correspond to the 16 positions at the bottom of the Top-up round. Any multipliers secured in that round are added to their corresponding positions in the Bonus round.
One of the positions is special and marked as Double. If the puck lands here, all payouts in the bonus round are doubled and the presenter drops the puck again.
Finally, your payout is determined by the base multiplier of the winning Pachinko position, added multipliers from the top-up round, and any multipliers found on the qualifying Scatter symbols. The formula looks like this:
(Pachinko multipliers x Scatter multipliers) + Top-Up multipliers = Final multipliers
The concept of playing slots in live casinos is still fresh, but more and more major software providers are dipping their toes. This release marks another step in the evolution of live slots. Not just because it’s made by Evolution, either. It’s an attempt to blend the slots with mega-popular live casino game shows. However, it manages to do so while keeping both components separate. Fans of slots will love that the core gameplay is unaffected, while game show fans still get to enjoy the exciting puck drop.
It’s worth mentioning that Playtech and Quickspin already did something similar with Big Bad Wolf Live. Although Crazy Pachinko seems bigger and more polished, this kind of blending of genres isn’t unique to Evolution.
All in all, though, we would say that the Crazy Pachinko live casino game is an absolute success. It can be fun for many types of players because of its unique gameplay, and we know for a fact that Crazy Time fans will love it too.
