LeoVegas Group has become the latest online gambling operator to secure approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). This approval will allow the operator to launch in the Canadian province’s regulated market.
The AGCO notified the Group that it is registered as an igaming operator even though they have not received a license. This obviously clears the way for LeoVegas to launch in the province.
In order to launch in the province, LeoVegas must enter into an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. The subsidiary of AGCO which oversees the market will allow LeoVegas to launch when the market opens on April 4th.
As soon as LeoVegas secures final approval as expected, it will offer their popular gaming products to Ontario players. These products such as online casino, live casino, and betting are already popular with players around the world. They will be available under its LeoVegas and Royal Panda brands.
According to LeoVegas, launching in Ontario aligns with its strategy to grow in locally regulated markets. Other plans include going live in the US later this year, starting with New Jersey.
Over the recent years, the LeoVegas brand has become the third most well-known casino brand in the Canadian market. In addition, Royal Panda has shown growth, which is a clear sign that the North American customers appreciate the gaming experience they offer.
LeoVegas now focuses to complete this process while preparing to launch in a new regulated environment. Given their track record and knowledge to operate in regulated markets they continue to have high expectations. In addition, they have ambitions for continued growth in the Ontario market.
In recent weeks, Rush Street Interactive, and 888 have secured approval to launch in Ontario when the market opens.
