Sean Wilkins Becomes the New CFO at 888
Important news coming from 888 – the company is changing its Chief Financial Officer in 2024! According to the latest press release, Sean Wilkins will step up as the new CFO, replacing Yariv Dafna.
Yariv Dafna to Step Down This October
Yariv Dafna, the current Chief Financial Officer at 888, is stepping down in October. On October 2, all official duties will be transferred to Vaughan Lewis. Lewis is the current Group Chief Strategy Officer, but will assume the duties and role of CFO until Wilkins comes aboard in February 2024.
However, there seems to be no bad blood between Dafna and 888 Holdings. The Executive Chair of 888 Lord Mendelson released a statement praising Dafna and thanking him for this contribution to 888.
According to Mendelson, Dafna played “a crucial role” in the completion of the integration of William Hill. He also thanked Dafna for “providing stability in the role of CFO over recent months while we searched for a permanent successor”.
New CFO and New CEO
Wilkins will join 888 in February 2024, which means there are several months to go before the company meets its new CFO. In the meantime, the company and its employees will be getting used to the new CEO.
Namely, 888 is also appointing a new Chief Executive Officer in the middle of October. On October 16, to be precise, Per Widerström will become the new CEO at 888.
Mendelson said that the “board is highly confident that the group has an outstanding executive team in place with the right skills and capabilities to deliver the group’s clear strategic plans and priorities”.
Wilkins has a rich career that spans nearly 2 decades. So far, he has filled the role of CFO at several large-scale companies including Big Bus Tours, Domino’s Pizza Group PLC, Tesco Malaysia, O2 Asia, and Tesco Telecom. Before agreeing to join 888, Wilkins worked as the Group CFO at Superbet, a multi-channel betting and gaming company.
