Videoslots Joins Growing List of Swedish Licensees
The award-winning online casino Videoslots has emerged as the latest gaming operator to be issued a licence by the Swedish Gambling Authority – Lotteriinspektionen.
Sweden is set to unroll a remodelled gaming landscape as of 2019.
With a new online gaming law set to be introduced in full effect as of January, the industry’s most notable names have been coming in flocks to apply for a gaming licence in this European country.
As much as 22 operators applied on the launch day alone while the list kept growing.
Sweden is ready to adopt new gaming taxes and introduce a regulatory package that will tackle problem gambling as Sweden looks to take online gaming by the scruff of the neck. A firm grip is expected to be taken on unlawful gambling activities and promoting irresponsible gambling as Sweden also looks to introduce gambling fraud into the criminal classification.
The new regulations did little to sway the interested operators who are jumping on the occasion to join the growing Swedish market.
LeoVegas has already roared its way into Sweden by becoming one of the first operators to be handed a Swedish licence while the latest news update has it that Videoslots were quick to follow suit.
Commenting on the licence that’s just been granted to his company, the Videoslots CEO Alexander Stevendhal expressed his delight at the opportunity to introduce Videoslots’ unique casino offering to Swedish players.
