John Hunter and the Mayan Gods is the fifth instalment in the franchise which is slowly shaping up to be the most successful Pragmatic Play franchise ever. After two slots which focused on Egypt, this one returns to Yucatan and its folklore. John Hunter and the Book of Tut came out in May 2020.

When you first load the game, you enter a secluded Mayan temple in the middle of the jungle. Thick forest and stone columns decorated with various Mayan ornaments serve as the backdrop for the grid encased in gold. On the grid, there are five reels and three rows. Each reel is filled with icons that combine traditional Mayan elements with card royals styled appropriately. Everything is golden – from the low-paying icons to the high-paying cups, daggers, rings, and totems. The hero of the eponymous game is the highest-paying tile, worth more than the Mayan character too. The game also has two other icons which are the Scatter and the Wild.

John Hunter and the Mayan Gods slot pays 500x the stake for the maximum Multiplier win. If you succeed in getting five Scatters, you will receive a 50x payout. For example, cups on the grid transform into daggers, daggers transform into rings, and rings transform into totems, and so forth. Cups are level 1, daggers are level 2, and rings are level 3.
